LPSD is now a member of the Vietnam NCD Prevention Alliance

 LPSD is honored to have become an official member of the Vietnam Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Prevention Alliance (abbreviated as NCDs-VN) on 28 February 2017.

      NCDs-VN was established on 14 July 2015 at the conference "The role of civil society organizations in policy development and advocacy for tobacco and alcohol prevention in Vietnam". For the period from 2015-2020, NCDs-VN aims to:

          (I) Become an alliance with an organizational structure, management clarity, transparency and accountability in accordance with international standards to be able to gather the best human resources of the civil society organizations in Vietnam to participate in the prevention of NCDs, particularly in the field of prevention of NCDs;

          (Ii) To be recognized as representing civil society in the development process of policy advocacy for disease prevention among the priority actions of NCDs in Vietnam (cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, mental disorders).

      NCDs-VN’s strength is in the health and medical aspects, and LPSD hopes to get the support, advice and participation of NCDs-VN on the evaluation and establishment of the diseases burdening the people affected by pollution and economic development projects, to ensure that the people can live in peace and happiness.

      Established in 2007 and re-organized in 2012, LPSD is the first organisation to engage in the field of legal research for the purpose of sustainable development. LPSD prioritises the interests of the community, such that all activities are oriented toward the construction, development and protection of the legal rights of communities affected by environmental issues, with a focus on vulnerable groups like children and women. Hence, LPSD aspires to contribute to the development of NCDs-VN through our strengths.

       LPSD hopes that the two sides will have more opportunities to cooperate with and support each other, and strive toward build a healthier and stronger Vietnam.
