Sharing program “Small and Great” in 2019

        The program was held at Dinh Quan Pagoda, Hanoi from 22 to 23 January 2019, with the participation of 28 community members from: Son La (resettlement problem, rubber plantation problem); Ninh Thuan (land problem); Quang Ninh (land problem); Soc Trang and Can Tho (thermal power problem); Binh Thuan; Thua Thien Hue; and guests from: Research and Training Center for Community Development (RTCCD); Culture Identity and Resources Use Management Center (CIRUM); Center for Water Resources Conservation and Development (WARECOD); HealthBridge Canada Organization; Mekong Youth Network.

The game helps communities get to know each other

        Program content includes community problem such as hydropower resettlement in Son La, pesticide disposal in Thanh Hoa, Vinh Tan thermal power plant. The program also mentions about local economic/culture development initiatives, climate change, reduce plastic, and knowledge about the harm of asbestos chrysotile in Vietnam.

Through sharing sessions, participants have an opportunity to meet people from several areas, share and learn from each other and from experts. 

Dinh Quan Buddhist monk shares about “Understanding and True Love”

         In addition, in this program, the communities also listen to the profound philosophy of life from Dinh Quan Buddhist monks. This is a special experience that the organizing would like to bring to communities as a peaceful wish for the end of the lunar year.

         Being held for the first time, sharing program named “Small and Great” is hoped to bring helpful experiences and to create a bridge between participants. With the goal of developing “Active-United-Knowledgable Community”, LPSD will continue to accompany with grassroots communities in 2019 with many interesting activities.
